Seismosaurus BA Porter
Brewer's Notes
Chocolatey, creamy, roasty, caramely–everything you could want in a dark offering. To take this smooth operator to the next level, we aged it in bourbon barrels and picked up some additional complexity. The bright acidic mouthfeel of the original porter has transformed into soft milk chocolate, raisins, and toffee. While most barrel-aged offerings boast ABVs above 10%, Seismosaurus is ironically very mild and gentile at 7.0%. You know, like Little Foot on the way to the Great Valley. Yeah. I went there.

Behind The Name
The Seismosaurus was the largest land dinosaur to ever roam the earth, weighing between 20-30 tons and measuring 110-170 feet long! Just as the Seismosaurus shook the earth wherever it went, this bourbon barrel-aged porter will similarly shake your palate. The chocolate, caramel and roasted notes of the base beer harmonize wonderfully with the vanilla and cherry characteristics brought by the 6 months of aging time spent in bourbon barrels.
