Shear Wave is an IPA - a tropical, fruity, hot-weather IPA. We already make a couple great IPAs, sure, but this is a little different. Personally, we think it has an interesting combo of hops and some malted rye which set it apart from our other IPAs. The hop blend is Idaho 7, Cashmere, Azacca, and the trendy new school hop, Sabro. This mashup of hops is meant to lean very heavily into the flavor profile of tiki cocktails, so expect a lot of berry, coconut, peach candy, pina colada, mango, etc. The rye malt adds some depth, color, spice, and sweetness. We also kept the Alcohol content in check at 6.5% to ensure all weather enjoyment!

Behind The Name
A shear wave (or “S-Wave”) is a Seismic wave that shakes the ground perpendicularly to the direction a seismic wave is traveling (picture an outstretched slinky that is shaken back and forth or slammed on the ground repeatedly creating massive waves). Because of this, these waves are almost always associated with creating significant and lasting shifts in the earth’s landscape. Similar to a shear wave, this IPA will shake your taste buds awake with its’ tropical hop profile and leave a lasting impression on your palate.
